Why Is The Watchtower Liquidating Itself?
by metatron inin 2009, they reported 118 branches.
in 2011, they reported 98 branches.
a net loss of 20 branches in 2 years.. they are selling off kingdom halls, here and there - sometimes packing several congregations into one hall where one per building was the rule.not compassionate where weather or other traveling factors could injure publishers..... and they're selling off some assembly halls, too.. brooklyn et al is being sold - and you already know about all the many cutbacks, layoffs and the downsizing of magazines.. why?.

Funny you should mention that Zeroday. I usually go out for breakast by myself on the days my wife goes to her assemblies. I'm at the Gypsy Den in Santa Ana having breakast right now and two women just walked up and peeked in the window. Right way I could see that they were JWs in service. In one of there bags I could see a magazine or large tract sticking out that read in huge letters " ARMAGEDDON". There still out there counting time and trying to scare others into there miserable lifestlye. You have to feel for them.

Life Is Short
by mrsjones5 inin honour of the fact that life is shortwear your white shirts.
get them pressed.. use your good dishes everyday.. shave on weekends.. do not wait for special occasions.. do not tuck your best away in the drawers, in the back of the closet, in your heart.. dont wait for holidays or invitations.. declare that your today is the special occasion.. call instead of emailing.
(it feels so good to connect.).

Imagine this: A Leak of Major Announcement this Summer.
by OnTheWayOut inthe truth has been streamlined.
the new smaller magazines starting in january, if armageddon hasn't come before then, are even more simplified.
i know you cannot imagine that being possible, but they are.

Its the memorial, NOT EASTER!
by Joliette inmy mom says dont say happy easter cause she is not a part of babylon the great...i said 'happy easter' to my brother as a joke and my brother goes back and tells my mom like were little kids (i'm 29 and he's 27 with a new baby by the way) and my mom writes me a lengthy email about how i shouldnt joke about babylon the great.
i am 29 years old, 29. and i can't joke around.
i know all j-dubs arent like this, but a lot of them are just like my mom.

How Will the Society React to the Hundred Year Anniversary of 1914?
by slimboyfat init's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.
there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.
but they have to deal with it one way or another.

I see some good ideas here that they could run with. A few will wake up but the brainwashed masses will just go along with whatever they say whether they say something or just ignore the issue.
Maybe they could use their one day equal 1000 years creative day theory. They could claim that the 100 years that have passed since 1914 are only one 10th of a 24 hour day in God's eye so it has only been about 2 1/2 hours since 1914. Barely enough time for Jesus to get a cup of coffee and grab a dougnut before begining work.

Interview with former Watchtower P.R. man Robert Jankowski
by Dogpatch inlast week i took a trip down to santa ana, ca.
and met robert jankowski, a name i heard very often at bethel in the late 70s.
robert was one of the voices of many watchtower drama characters in the 70s, along with tom cabeen, who he often worked with.. in addition, the watchtower was allowed a slot on local radio stations every sunday (allowed by law free of charge to churches then) , which he provided to the radio stations in cassette form in advance.
